House Parties In Support of
the Collaborative for Ecological Yoga

You are invited to host a house party,
lecture, or mini-workshop to explore the interrelation
of ecology and Yoga. Hosts will gather 5 - 15 friends
in a Yoga studio, living room, backyard, or park.
Laura will briefly describe the work of the Collaborative
for Ecological Yoga, an outgrowth of her dissertation
research, and will guide attendees in simple Yogic
practices that awaken a conscious interconnection
with all life.
Possible Topics
The ecological history of Yoga
The "Yoga is Ecological" values
statement
Poems and stories about reverence and
interconnection
Possible Activities:
Yoga asana (posture) practice
outdoors
Fox walk in a forest or other natural
environment
Meditation on the breath and/or the elements
Plant observation and communication
Prana (life force) awareness
Yoga poses to invite communion: Mountain,
bird, snake, fish, etc.
Possible Locations:
Open grove in a forest
setting
Beach, bay shore, stream, or other
body of water
Vista for sunrise, sunset, moonrise,
moonset, or stargazing
Sunny, grassy area or wooden deck
Yoga studio, living room, or other
indoor location
Time Frame:
1 - 2 hours
Minimum Donation:
$10, more is welcome, to support the Collaborative
for Ecological Yoga.
