Peacemaking Circle for Educators
Come join our diverse, dynamic group that meets once
per month on Thursday evenings. You will learn new skills
and receive support from this circle of educators committed
to peacemaking with students and colleagues. Reflect
on what's currently working in your practice. Collaborate
together to examine the tough questions regarding what's
not working.
Topics include:
- Building respect, safety, and trust
- Teaching conflict resolution
- Responding creatively to difficult situations
- Bringing joy, celebration, and a just peace into
the classroom
Who we are: A private school 5th grade teacher,
a counselor and family advocate, a conflict resolution
teacher, a director of a girls mentoring program, and
a UC Berkeley undergrad. We work in San Francisco, Richmond,
San Pablo, and Berkeley. We're looking for diverse voices
to share in our engaging, collaborative process.
Before joining the circle, you will receive
an initial one-on-one coaching session from the group
leader and a content packet to get you started.
Dates: November 6, December 4, 6:30 - 8:30 pm
plus five dates in the winter/spring.
Cost: $225 for one-on-one coaching session,
content packet, and seven Thursday evenings.
The presenter, Laura Cornell, MA has over 15
years' experience in both public and private schools,
including seven years specializing in conflict resolution
and teacher mentoring. She holds a Spanish-bilingual
teaching credential, an MA in psychology, and is completing
her doctoral degree in Humanities. She has led training
on a wide variety of topics including LifeSkills, Classroom
Meetings, Second Step, stress reduction for teachers,
and teacher mentoring.
