Yoga in the Redwoods:
Exploring our Relationship with Trees
When the Buddha sat down to achieve his final awakening,
he chose as companionship the graceful Bodhi tree. Many
of us remember our delight at playing in and under trees
as children. Yet how many of us cultivate a healthy
relationship with trees as adults?
In the beautiful natural setting of Quaker Center,
you will
- Learn the natural history of the Redwoods and the
animal communities that live in and around them.
- Meditate in the presence of these great beings.
- Practice Hatha Yoga as a means of inviting the messages
of the trees to unfold in the body.
The weekend will include ample time for rest and private
time as well as group engagement and reflection. Delicious
vegetarian meals will be provided.
Dates: February 20 - 22. The program will begin
with dinner Friday evening and conclude with Sunday
lunch.
Location: Quaker Center Redwood Lodge and Art
Barn, Ben Lomond, California.
